VOLUNTEER SUPPORT

We presently have a salaried staff of two, our Museum Manager and our Curator/Director of Education. All other positions are filled by volunteers who greet you at the door, provide an orientation and guided tour and ring up your purchases at the Museum Shop. Behind the scenes, we work year round planning, implementing and publicizing our programs, overseeing our collections, raising funds, soliciting memberships, providing educational materials and tours to area school children, purchasing for and clerking in the Museum Shop, tending our herb garden, keeping our financial records accurate, designing and maintaining our web pages and the myriad tasks necessary to keep the museum operating smoothly. And, a week before our opening date, we gather to give the mansion a real old fashioned house cleaning of which Lucy Knox would be proud. Additional volunteers are urgently needed and warmly welcomed. If you live or summer in this area and would like to donate your skills and time, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at Montpelier: (207) 354-8062.

CONTRIBUTE TO THE MUSEUM'S ANNUAL APPEAL

Each year the Museum reviews its most pressing needs and undertakes a special campaign to raise funds to meet these needs. Past projects have included building projects; the restoration of collection items; and the collection catalog. Tax deductible donations are used specifically to meet the needs identified.
